    Topic General articles
We describe here the realisation of a low pass digital filter. Our filter treats only the past entries, so it is a FIR type (finite impulse response). That means that if such a filter is excited by an impulsion, the output signal always ends to zero after a limited time.

Design and test your own signal processing application at a moderate prize? It is possible by using an emulator relatively inexpensive, delivered with a free development software (and also downloadable via Internet) and the probes, and also due to free softwares on the web allowing you to transform your PC with its sound card into a low frequency generator, oscilloscope, spectrum analyser and frequency counter.

Signal processing processes are often based on the same scheme :
signal to be processed => processing => processed signal.

Then it is possible to simply implement this process with Excel :

    DSP markets and example applications.
    Posted by adaptyv on : 2001, Friday, March 23 @ 20:29:17 CET (10313 reads)
    Topic General articles
Signal processing is a fast growing up area : radiotelephone (GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS,...), multimedia applications, instrumentation, medical, etc... As the processing capabilities of DSPs have increased and the prices have decreased, DSPs are being used in more and more applications. The list hereafter is not exhaustive, and give an overview of signal processing functions and applications used in different main sectors.
